Compliance & Review
Researchers at BUCOM are expected to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct while protecting the rights, safety, and privacy of all research participants. All studies involving human or animal subjects require prior approval from the appropriate oversight bodies (IRB or IACUC) to ensure compliance with federal and institutional regulations. Researchers must also adhere to data privacy laws such as HIPAA and FERPA when handling sensitive or identifiable information. BUCOM provides guidance, resources, and training to help investigators remain informed and fully compliant throughout the research process.
