The BUCOM Summer Research Internship Program provides students with an immersive, mentor-guided experience designed to strengthen critical thinking, foster scientific curiosity, and build practical research skills early in their medical education. Through hands-on projects across a range of disciplines, students work closely with faculty and research mentors to explore innovative approaches to healthcare while contributing to meaningful scholarly activity that supports their academic and professional development.

BUCOM also offers students the opportunity to engage in summer research experiences with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, providing access to world-class facilities, leading scientists, and cutting-edge biomedical research. First introduced as an opportunity for BUCOM students in 2026, this partnership reflects a growing commitment to expanding high-impact, externally mentored research experiences and is anticipated to continue offering valuable opportunities in future years.

Announcements about application openings will be distributed via student email, and all eligible students are strongly encouraged to apply.
