Research - Roles & Responsibilities
Measurement Tool
- Baptist University Healthcare Team Pre and Post Tests are used to measure the student’s ability to distinguish the professional roles and responsibilities of Baptist University healthcare team members.
- The test is an internally developed direct assessment tool used in a college success course designed to be completed by students in their first trimester at Baptist University.
- The test consists of twenty questions in which the students match a statement describing a role or responsibility activity to specific Baptist University Healthcare Team member(s) whom participate in the activity.
- Students complete a pre-test at the beginning of the course to determine baseline knowledge. During the course, interactive activities and presentations are provided to inform students. At the end of the course, the students re-take the test. The scores from both tests will be compared to determine an increase in knowledge and understanding of the roles and responsibilities.
Data Analysis
- Data collection began in fall 2015. The chart indicates 94% (63 of 67) of course sections indicated an increase in learning of understanding the roles and responsibilities at the end of course.
