A baccalaureate college education at Baptist Health Sciences University does more than just train you in your respective health care field. Our general education requirements help you develop intellectual skills that will enhance your professional, civic, spiritual, and personal life. You will learn how to analyze the world around you from different perspectives, how to communicate your ideas and understand the ideas of others, how to solve problems, and how to apply your knowledge and skills in your chosen profession. At Baptist University the traditional student’s general education consists of 31 credit hours of core courses and 4 credit hours of Baptist University required courses. These courses support the mission of the College and provide you with a comprehensive foundation to prepare you for your selected major.
MISSION
The general education and health studies' mission is to provide students with a strong foundation in the arts and sciences to prepare them with the intellectual, social, and spiritual values needed to succeed in the health care profession. General education and health studies courses focus on students developing skills in critical thinking, scientific inquiry, communication, and ethics.
OUTCOMES
Upon completion of their general education course of study:
