BHSU to Host SHE Leads the Way Symposium
Baptist HealthCORE is excited to present the 2nd Annual SHE Leads the Way symposium on October 23, 2023 at 6 p.m. on the campus of Baptist Health Sciences University.
The symposium is a part of the larger SHE Leads the Way program which includes opportunities for networking, mentoring, and educational events that empower middle school, high school, and college-aged women to pursue careers in science and healthcare.
This year’s keynote speaker is Erica Plybeah, Founder & CEO of MedHaul. Ms. Plybeah is a clinical informaticist and technology entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in health information technology, acute patient care, pharmacy, and oncology. Her company, MedHaul, is an end-to-end platform for finding and scheduling transportation for vulnerable patient populations. To date, Ms. Plybeah and MedHaul have been recognized by Forbes, Essence Magazine, Google and NPR and have secured over $2.5M in venture capital. Ms. Plybeah will share with participants her journey to becoming a CEO and founder in the healthcare tech space as well as engage in a Q&A session.
Participants will also have an opportunity to engage in a series of hands-on activities to expand their skills in the science and health care professions and receive access to resources that will jump start their own journey. Parents and teachers are also welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
