Meet Mitzi Roberts, Director of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness

Mitzi Roberts Ed.D., RT(R), RDMS, RDCS, FSDMS, serves as the Director of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness for Baptist University. Dr. Roberts served in this role previously and led the successful SACSCOC 10-year reaffirmation process and the substantive change process for the Doctor of Nursing Practice program. Recently she served as Adjunct Faculty for Itawamba Community College and assisted BHSU and Northpoint Christian School with implementation of learning management systems and technology integration during the pandemic. Dr. Roberts is active in her profession as a sonographer.  Her experience includes clinical sonographer, clinical instructor, associate professor, program director, and associate dean. She currently serves as President-Elect of the Board of Directors for the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (SDMS). Dr. Roberts is a medical radiography and diagnostic medical sonography alumna and earned a Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois University. She holds a Master of Science from the University of Memphis and the Doctor of Education from Union University. 

Dr. Roberts has been recognized by the Baptist Health Sciences University with the Distinguished Alumni Award (2019), the Presidential Award (2015) and the Distinguished Faculty Award (2005). Dr. Roberts is a multi-year volunteer with the SDMS and JRCDMS, has served in a volunteer capacity with the ARDMS as well as authored several sonography textbook chapters. She also holds certificates in diagnostic medical sonography and medical radiology. Dr. Roberts has received the Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Kenneth R. Gottesfeld Award for Outstanding Article Contribution (2007), SDMS Distinguished Educator Award (2018), Servants Heart Award (2020) and received the SDMS Fellowship recognition in 2021. 

 

Meet Alexander Davis, Assistant Professor-Nursing

Alexander Davis, PhD, RN, CNE, PMH-BC serves as an Assistant Professor in Nursing. He is originally from Trenton, NJ where he worked for the NJ Department of Human Services for 30 years. Dr. Davis began his service as a Human Services Assistant and retired as a Quality Assurance Specialist RN Nurse Investigator. He has been working as a RN educator since 2013 in nursing diploma programs as well as in community college and university settings.

Dr. Davis received a RN diploma in 2004 from Capital Health Systems School of Nursing and an Associate of Science degree from Mercer County Community College Trenton, NJ. He also has a BSN degree from Thomas Edison State University Trenton, NJ., a MSN degree from Benedictine University Lisle, IL., and a PhD degree from Catholic University of America Washington, DC. Dr. Davis holds board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health RN through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is also certified through the National League of Nursing as a Nurse Educator. Dr. Davis psychiatric-nursing experience includes working in admissions and intensive treatment settings, correctional facilities, and forensic psychiatric settings.
