A Whimsical Evening at the Blue Healer Ball

It was a whimsical evening at BHSU on Thursday, Feb. 9 as the Campus Hub gym transformed into a ballroom for the first Blue Healer Ball. Students traded in their school attire for ball gowns and tuxedos to enjoy an evening of food, fun, and luxe as they danced the night away to TikTok trends, line dances, and slow songs.

“A lot of the students missed their proms due to the pandemic,” stated Jia Robinson, Residence Life Specialist. “I think this was a perfect event for students to get dressed up and enjoy themselves.”

SGA members proposed this idea to the Office of Student Life, who implemented it. Over 100 people attended, including 20 residential students, faculty, staff, nonresidential students, and their guests. Everyone entered the building with a strut down the blue carpet before striking a pose in the 360 Photo Booth—a huge hit with attendees.

Shania Fields, Vice President of the Student Government Association, gave a speech thanking attendees while encouraging them to take pictures and have a great time.

“I think that this turned out to be fun. The decorations turned out well and I am happy that everyone had a good time while looking good,” Fields states. “We definitely plan on doing something like this again in the future.”

God's Blessings

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
